Intensity estimation from satellites:An ensemble approach

Several objective methods to estimate tropical cyclone intensity from satellites are compared. The methods derive from objective Dvorak (IR-based), SSM/I and AMSU sources. An ensemble approach using the performance characteristics of each method is explored and evaluated. The results of this study will be presented.
