THE USE OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE METEOROLOGY PROGRAM AT MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY- CREATING A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE

The use of UNIDATA-distributed software in the teaching of synoptic meteorology at Millersville University will be discussed and illustrated. The synoptic classroom is viewed as a setting where the theory of dynamic meteorology may be brought alive through graphical depictions of the practical aspects of the current weather situation. The importance of the student's unique learning style for the success of the learning process in the synoptic meteorology classroom will be emphasized.
