The SHARED AIR'98 program [http://www.onesky.umich.edu/shared_air/], a unique collaborative activity of the One Sky, Many Voices project of the University of Michigan and the Concord Consortium, creates virtual communities tracking air quality as it traversed the United States. Participants observe atmospheric quality and compare their observations with those of other groups both upwind and downwind of their location.
The program offered a unique blend of structured air quality curriculum, hands-on science investigations, real-time information from the Internet, telecommunication through an electronic message board, and an interactive CD-ROM. The program is scheduled to be run again during May, 1999
