THE CASE STUDY TEMPLATE- A TOOL FOR SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATIONS, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

Kathryn M. Ginger, UCAR/PAGE, Boulder, CO; and L. Davis, M. Weingroff, and B. Heckman

As part of the ASMET (African Satellite Meteorological Education and Training) project, COMET® (The Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology, Education and Training) created a case study template that provides an easy interface for creating case studies filled with products (satellite, radar, observations, graphics, etc.), interactive questions for learners to answer, information, and links to related programs, such as Websites. The Case Study Template was designed for use by college faculty, other educators, and forecasters as a lecture aid, a tool for creating laboratory exercises, and a graphical interface for scientific presentations and training. The Template is a powerful tool because it allows users to organize lessons, cases, and presentations quickly and effortlessly. Use of the Template and a case study example from a National Weather Service Science and Operations Officer (SOO) will be demonstrated
