COMPARISON BETWEEN SURFACE RENEWAL AND SIMILARITY METHODOLOGIES FOR THE ESTIMATION OF SENSIBLE HEAT FLUX

Teodoro Georgiadis, CNR-FISBAT, Bologna, Italy; and P. Duce, F. Rossi, R. Sozzi, and Spano

The estimation of sensible heat flux over different short crops obtained by means of Surface Renewal analysis was compared to those obtained utilizing the 'theory of similarity' methodologies (i.e. Eddy Covariance and Flux-Variance techniques). The experimental data were fitted vs. the different similarity formulations reported in literature. The temperature structure-parameter was also utilized to estimate the heat flux in convective situations.
