Description:
Established in October 2010 and benefited from many domestic and international collaborations, the Integrated Calibration and Validation System (ICVS, https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/icvs/) at the NOAA's Center for Satellite Application and Research has provided over 10 years of near real time (NRT) and long term satellite spacecraft status and sensor data record (SDR) data quality monitoring for numerous operational environmental satellites. Taking this 10-year anniversary opportunity and build upon the achievement of milestones, we appreciate feedback and suggestions from our wide user community and we propose this session to cover (but not limited to) the following six major topics:
(1) Experiences and feedback from the user community with the use of the ICVS LTM products;
(2) Experience and lessons learned for near-real time (NRT) Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) systems for Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) instruments and data;
(3) Studies and analyses for LEO and GEO Sensor Data Record (SDR) data life-time performance;
(4) Studies and analyses for inter-sensor radiometric differences of ATMS/CrIS/VIIRS/OMPS SDR data between SNPP and NOAA-20, and between legacy satellites;
(5) Studies and new methodology developments for inter-sensor comparison between LEO-LEO and LEO-GEO SDR data;
(6) Discussions on the future pathways of Integrated Calibration and Validation System LTM to meet the needs of more operational satellites in the next ten years.
