Joint Session 14A Atmospheric Convection and Air-sea Interactions Over the Tropical Oceans

Friday, 15 January 2021: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

Description:

The scientific community is making considerable progress in understanding tropical climate variability thanks to integration and the collaborative spirit of the atmospheric convection and air-sea interaction communities. In the spirit of that collaboration, the session is aimed at bringing these communities together to review recent progress in our understanding of processes including but not limited to ENSO, IOD, pan-tropical interactions, ocean eddies and barrier layers, as well as MJO, equatorial waves, organization of tropical convection and air-sea interactions at high wind speed. We invite presentations on results from recent in situ and remote sensing observations, field experiments, and advances in global and limited area modeling, including tropical climate prediction.
