The NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) is one of 12 NASA Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs) managed by NASA's Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) that document, process, archive, and distribute data from Earth Science Missions and related projects. GES DISC hosts numerous Earth Science datasets stored in a variety of data formats which are accessible through tools and services including resources on analyzing satellite data of various processing levels. Additionally, GES DISC has published resources designed for users, for example, tutorials and science articles which demonstrate these tools and Jupyter Notebooks to enable reproducibility. Subsequent user feedback promotes GES DISC collaboration with other NASA data centers, upholding open science principles. We present an overview of how GES DISC engages with satellite data users, meets user needs and is committed to enabling open science, promoting the understanding of the changing global climate.
