This poster is part of the Fifth National Climate Assessment (NCA5) poster series. The NCA5 Overview Chapter introduces NCA5 and provides a synthesis of the assessment findings of the underlying chapters of NCA5. It begins with how people across the US are already experiencing climate change and what mitigation and adaptation actions they are already taking to address climate change. It continues by describing the risks we face to the things we value, across sectors and regions, and how societal choices drive emissions, which drive warming and ultimately drive impacts. It also describes how US climate action can create a more resilient and just nation. The AMS community is invited to explore the Overview chapter as well as NCA5—the preeminent source of climate information for the United States. NCA5 is developed by the U.S. Global Change Research Program and is scheduled for release in late 2023.
