Climate Justice encompasses a broad range of topics including governance, legal principles, decision making at global through local levels, renewable energy, equitable allocations of assets, indigenous rights and the rights of all under-represented groups to be a part of decision making. Many climate scientists would like to apply their knowledge and expertise to help address climate justice; however, experience has taught us that scientific information in isolation does very little to address climate justice issues. The community is working across disciplines to identify the principles for effectively addressing climate justice. Some of these efforts will be presented, along with success stories showing appropriate use of climate science to address climate justice on a regional and global level.
