NOAA-21, the third satellite in the joint Polar Satellite System series, was launched in November 2022. NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) is generating and distributing NOAA-21 products to operational users through the Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC).
This presentation will provide NOAA-21 product generation and distribution status from NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF) and NOAA-21 product calibration/validation timeline as they mature from Beta to Provisional and to fully Validated products. It will also describe the timeline that NOAA-21 will be designated the primary JPSS satellite, JPSS Constellation re-phasing after NOAA-21 becomes primary and potential impacts to user community during the relocation period.
