James J. Morrow, NWS, King George, VA; and K. Graham

As the Nation’s official source for space weather alerts, watches, and warnings, NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) is working with the community to advance forecasting capabilities through improved observations, modeling capabilities, and the related process of transitioning research and technology innovations into operations at the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). A whole-of-community approach across the Federal government, the commercial sector, academia, and international partners is critical to ensure communities are ready, responsive, and resilient to space weather. As directed by the PROSWIFT Act, the White House Space Weather Operations, Research, and Mitigation (SWORM) Subcommittee coordinates Federal Government departments and agencies to meet the objectives necessary to achieve a Space Weather-Ready Nation.

This presentation will report on the current initiatives to collaborate across the space weather enterprise to advance critical decision support services and products for core partners, such as emergency management officials, and operators responsible for satellite control, airline operations, communications networks, navigation systems, and the electric power grid.
