Description:
This session addresses various aspects of digital twins as an effective technology to enhance our ability to process, monitor, quality-control, consolidate, fuse, and assimilate environment observations. Digital twins have been successfully employed in manufacturing, construction, health care, and many other domains. In this session, we bring a lively discussion on the use of digital twins for Earth Observations to enhance monitoring (“what now”), forecasting (“what next”), and assessments (“what if”). The maturity of digital twins, the validity of integrating digital twins into operational systems, and the prospects of interoperable digital twins will be discussed.
Abstracts are invited in all areas of exploring the digital twins for Earth Observations, including but not limited to:
- The application of digital twins for anomaly detection, data fusion, data assimilation, calibration monitoring and correction, and environmental trends monitoring
- The use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in implementing digital twins
- Interoperability of digital twins.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, 15 August 2024
