Session Exploring How Earth Science Applications Enhance Environmental Health Decision-Making

Description:

As the perils related to the triple planetary crisis cannot be overlooked, innovative decision-making frameworks connecting Earth and health scientists and communities are indispensable to identify existing knowledge gaps and underpin policy development. The analysis of environmental observations from satellite- and ground-based sources offers a holistic view of natural and anthropogenic ecosystem changes over temporal and spatial parameters. Through this session, we encourage submissions that highlight novel applications of multidisciplinary collaborations that use Earth observations and other geospatial data to examine risks within health and air quality sectors. Possible topics can include, but are not limited to, user-centric research aligned with space agency missions, citizen science applications working collectively with communities, and timely environmental health risk assessments, in efforts to bridge One Health collaborations that promote environmental health sustainability.

Submission Deadline: Thursday, 15 August 2024
