This presentation will describe the approach and the tasks that the FAA Product Development Team for Aviation Forecasts and Quality Assessment (AF&QA) will undertake to implement the Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS) operationally at the NWS/NCEP Aviation Weather Center (AWC). The target date is late summer FY 02. Our approach includes implementing operational and experimental versions of ADDS. The operational version will be supported 24/7 by AWC and will include all products that have been approved by the FAA/NWS Aviation Weather Technology Transfer Board (AWTT) as Guidance (D4) or Operational (D5). The experimental version will run at AWC but will be supported 9/5 by the AF&QA PDT. It and will include D4/D5 products and experimental products (D3) for user comparison.

The presentation will also show (via the Internet or Power Point animation) some of the exciting enhancements that we are currently making to ADDS. These include upgrading the Flight Path Tool (FPT) and working with the private sector to enable users to access ADDS via Personal Digital Assistants (PDA).
