The National Weather Service (NWS) Office in Grand Junction, Colorado has been engaging in building a culture within the local office that emphasizes the provision of decision support services, as well as providing enhanced services to local, state, and regional decision makers. These efforts are in alignment with the NWS vision of building a Weather-Ready Nation. The focus of this case overview is to take a look at the efforts delivered during a prolonged winter storm that highly impacted travel and outdoor industry across the region over a four day period. The delivery and production of important, appropriate and timely messages to our partners will be evaluated along with outreach efforts to the general public via our social media platforms.
