CROW-Driven ecFlow Workflow: A High-Reliability, Flexible Workflow System.

NCEP operational models, such as the NAM, GFS, HWRF, and others, are run by NCEP Central Operations in a hard-coded, ecFlow-based, workflow. In the research world, we need a more flexible workflow system that can automatically switch between numerous workflows for many model configurations, and we need the ability to run in lower-reliability compute environments. We show the success of using Python, CROW-driven, system that can generate ecFlow workflows for both operational and research environments off of a simpler YAML specification.
