The Applied Climate Information System (ACIS) Climate Summary Maps have been generated by the High Plains Regional Climate Center (HPRCC) on a daily basis since 2003. With over 250,000 maps available in the ACIS Climate Summary Maps archive, it is easily one of the most popular products created by the Center. These maps are utilized by a number of sectors and are routinely used for climate and drought monitoring, since they incorporate near real-time data from ACIS. Over the years, HPRCC has received numerous requests from stakeholders looking to obtain the maps in GIS formats. With funding provided by the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), the HPRCC is now producing GIS versions of the ACIS Climate Summary Maps, which will give stakeholders the opportunity to easily combine information from various sectors with HPRCC mapped products. This demonstration will give attendees a chance to view and test drive the HPRCC’s new GIS Portal, which houses the new datasets.
