Prepared for the Ninth Conference on Transition of Research to Operations [9R2O]

We will present results of tests of a new method to generate initial conditions for ensemble members that differ partially or even exclusively through stochastic perturbations of the parameterized cloud systems. The method is based on super-parameterization with multiple embedded cloud-resolving models. Several cases will be discussed.
