The NOAA/CIMSS ProbSevere model integrates and distills gigabytes of meteorological data into kilobytes of actionable information, providing valuable nowcasting guidance of severe storms to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast offices. Version 1 of the ProbSevere model is moving toward becoming an operational subsystem within Multi-Radar Multi-Sensor (MRMS) in 2019. This presentation gives an overview of the R2O and O2R process for ProbSevere thus far – past, present, and future. Highlights include: researcher partnership with the NWS, what has worked well in the R2O process, and what could be improved in the R2O process. Current model development with a focus on GOES-R series GLM and ABI research will be presented. Future research avenues and AWIPS-2 visualization plans will also be discussed.
