NCEP (National Centers for Environmental Prediction) assimilates GNSSRO (Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Radio Occultation (RO)) Data from various platforms for their operational forecasts. They use 4D-EnVar assimilation scheme for assimilating the bending angle from the RO dataset. With the arrival of RO measurements from new missions like KOMPSAT-5 and Megha-Tropiques, it is now essential to perform the quality assessment of both the existing datasets and those new products. This is necessary to use the best observation set for assimilation. The present research work is centered on the goal of evaluating the existing and the new datasets, their quality assessment and comparative study of mutual performance through impact study.
