The Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R-Series (GOES-R) is the new generation of geostationary satellites bringing forth major advancements in satellite capabilities. The GOES-R baseline products provide many benefits to the weather, water and space user community by taking advantage of its new instruments and ground system that provide imager data five times faster with four times the spatial resolution and three times as many spectral bands than does legacy GOES. The first satellite in the GOES-R Series was launched November 19, 2016 (now GOES-16) and is currently located in the GOES-East position. GOES-S (now GOES-17) was launched March 1, 2018 and is currently undergoing Post-Launch Testing. The GOES-R Series continuity, enhanced, and wholly new revolutionary data products are widely disseminated throughout the user community. This talk will provide updates on the status of GOES-16 and GOES-17 products as well as new applications and decision aids.
