Connecting NESDIS/GOES-R to the NWS through the Operations Proving Ground

The National Weather Service (NWS) Operations Proving Ground (OPG) has been an instrumental partner to the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Series with NWS validation and user-readiness of GOES-16 and GOES-17 data. This panel will explain how the OPG, NESDIS, and GOES-R coordinated the effective transition of GOES-16 and GOES-17 data to the NWS and include a Q&A session to allow NESDIS domestic and international partners to learn more about this innovative, mutually beneficially, interagency collaboration.
