2.4 CBRNE Modeling for Critical Real-World Events: Complexity, Challenges & Needs

During the last two decades, there has been a growing demand for critical real-world Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear, and high Explosive (CBRNE) support. The main mission of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Technical Reachback Division is to provides 24/7/365 decision and subject matter expertise advise for CBRNE events including planning, operations, and post-event analysis. Continuously facing increasingly complex and diverse scenarios, DTRA Reachback is forced to expand the domains of applications and to find creative and innovative tools to fulfill our mission. The current and future challenges for the hazard modeling community and operational needs are address in this presentation.
