NOAA's Weather and Climate Toolkit (WCT) is free, platform independent software distributed from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). The WCT allows the visualization and data export of weather and climate data, including Radar, Satellite and Model data. The WCT also provides access to weather/climate web services provided from NCEI and other organizations.

The WCT supports interoperability with the capability to both read and write data from a variety of sources. The WCT can export data to a variety of formats, including Shapefile, GeoJSON, NetCDF, GeoTIFF and more. The WCT supports reading data from local or remote locations, including http/https, ftp and OPeNDAP. Custom access to NEXRAD and GOES data in the NOAA Big Data project is available. General support for Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage are features currently under development.

The presentation will explore how the WCT can facilitate data access and analysis on cloud infrastructures.
