This session welcomes submissions addressing the past and projected evolution of stratospheric ozone and its interplay with climate. Topics covered include estimates of trends and variability in stratospheric ozone, the effects of increasing greenhouse gases on ozone recovery, the climate effects of HFCs, how changes in stratospheric ozone translate to changes in atmospheric circulation and surface climate, stratospheric aerosol–ozone–climate interactions associated with volcanic eruptions or geoengineering schemes, and changes associated with controls imposed by the Montreal Protocol and its subsequent amendments. Modeling and observational studies on local to global spatial scales and seasonal to centennial time scales are welcome.
