205B (Boston Convention and Exhibition Center)
Starting my career in theoretical Plasma Physics in Brazil, I never imagined that the focus of my research would be hurricanes. I’ll discuss my career path starting in Brazil, with many years in Germany, going back to Brazil before landing in the U.S. and having to reinvent myself in a new field, in a new country, while raising two kids. Then I’ll give an overview of a few of my favorite research results in tropical cyclones and climate over the years. I’ll finish with a discussion of my current research interests.
