While training can help prepare researchers for properly communicating with reporters, that training it is not keeping up with rapidly changing media landscape. There are key steps that you can take to reduce the chance your research is misunderstood and to help the broader public understand how your study applies to your life. With more than a dozen years experience conducting interviews for media giants like The Weather Channel and ABC News, as well as a Climate Change podcast called Warming Signs, we will examine metrics that show what works, what doesn't and how to be sure the media gets it right.
