J14.1 The role of observations in advancing Earth science prediction (Invited Presentation)

Tuesday, 14 January 2020: 8:30 AM
104C (Boston Convention and Exhibition Center)
G. L. Stephens, JPL, Pasadena, CA

This talk outlines the challenges confronting the measurement required to advance prediction of Earth's climate system. The talk will highlight a number of pathways by which observations advance prediction. These highlights will also illustrate the revolution in Earth observations that is occurring and how this revolution might begin to address the challenges in observing and monitoring the Earth system.
