The Asian-Bering-North American (ABNA) Teleconnection is a newer climate index that can describe spatial temperature variations over North America (Yu et al. 2016). While traditional teleconnections such as the Madden-Julian Oscillation, North Atlantic Oscillation, and El Niño Southern Oscillation have long been used to classify United States warm-season cooling degree-days (CDD) and cool-season heating degree-days (HDD); this analysis will examine the newer ABNA and United States degree-days to find significant relationships geospatially and statistically that may enhance energy related forecasting and decision making.
