In spite of the effects of global warming, increasing population, and serious pollution, Antarctica remains a bastion for study and discovery by serious scientists worldwide, as well as a model for collaborative support and preservation by the nations of the world. We will review what makes, and must continue to make Antarctica a unique continent both for scientific discovery and worldwide political cooperation.
