Building a Weather-Ready Nation through WRN Ambassador Training

Description:

The Weather-Ready Nation program is a critical piece to NOAA’s 2019-2022 Strategic Plan for a Weather-Ready Nation. Since its inception earlier this decade, the WRN Program has grown to include more than 10,000 Ambassadors, ranging in size from major corporations to small faith communities. As it stands today, the WRN Program provides educational materials to Ambassadors, but no formal training or certification is required to become a WRN Ambassador. This could lead to situations in which Ambassadors are unprepared or inadequately prepared for weather hazards and natural disasters, putting their customers, parishioners, and other stakeholders at risk of undue harm. This Town Hall will explore potential solutions by bringing together NOAA partners and other leaders in the Weather, Water, and Climate Enterprise.

Submission Deadline: Tuesday, 3 December 2019
