A Study of Current Data Sets for Outer Wind Radii

Adam Moyer, Penn State University, University Park, PA; and J. L. Evans

Throughout the history of tropical cyclone forecasting, the two most important parameters have been track and intensity forecasts. Recently, forecasts have started to include size parameters as well. However, the existing datasets show some disagreement in values for outer wind radii. In this paper, we will attempt to reconcile that problem, with future emphasis on developing a statistical-dynamical model to forecast outer wind radii. wrf recording  Recorded presentation
