Capitol Ballroom AB (Madison Concourse Hotel)
A long track, intense tornado devastated portions of central Arkansas during the evening of April 27 2014. The storm that produced this tornado occurred near the start of the April 27-30 2014 severe weather episode, which affected much of the southern United States. The tornado, rated as EF4 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, was responsible for 16 fatalities, and nearly 200 injuries.
An analysis of this event will be presented, as well as warning strategies that were employed. Efforts supporting rescue and relief efforts will also be described.
