The estimated rainfall using weather radar provides the importand information of the rainfall distribution for the analysis, monitor, forecasting a constantly varying rain system. At Summer season in Korea, the heavy rainfall is mainly occured by the Changma front, locally heavy rainfall, Typhoon, etc. KMA (Korea Meteorological Administraion) have developed, improved the radar rainfall estimation techinques for the analysis these rain system, consistently. To estimate radar rainfall, it is RAR (Radar-AWS Rainrate) system calculated and applied the Z-R relationship using reflecvities of radar CAPPI and rainfall of raingauges in real-time. And it is HSR (Hybrid Surface Rainfall) system to improve the accuracy of rainfall estimation due to the rdar beam-blocking. This study analyzed the accuracy of RAR and HSR about the cases Changma front (6 July), locally heavy rainfall (15 August), Thyphoon (30 August) in 2012. In the results of the quantitative verification, it is more accurate the RAR system than HSR, and in the qualitative verification, it is more accurate the HSR system than RAR for each rain cases. In other words, it is realized that HSR improved the performance about the observational gap and the rainfall existence about the ground raingauges and RAR improved the rainfall accuracy due to the computation of Z-R relationships using radar refelctivites and raingauges rainfall in real-time.
