A tropical disturbance made landfall near Morehead City, NC on 27 June, 2006 and continued moving up the U.S. east coast until being absorbed by a frontal system over New York on 28 June. There is compelling evidence that this disturbance had enough organization during part of its lifecycle to be classified as a tropical storm, based on a combined analysis of satellite, radar, surface, and upper level data.
