Using the CM1 cloud-resolving model, three-dimensional full-physics simulations of deep convection were performed. These simulations were used to examine the impact of horizontal and vertical shear flows on the development and subsequent evolution of the vorticity associated with isolated convective towers and the impact of vorticity on the structure and life cycle of the convection.
