A suite of cloud-resolving simulations of the ITCZ and tropical waves are performed using a nested-channel version of the WRF model with prescribed zonally-uniform sea-surface temperatures (SSTs). A key objective is to understand how the choice of SST profile influences the simulated properties of the ITCZ and its embedded transients.
