Numerous reports of devastating drought in the Horn of Africa have appeared on the web. The crisis has devastated agriculture and produced famine and widespread migration. This paper examines the evolution of the situation over the past four years and describes the areas and seasons affected. Factors contributing to the development of the drought are also discussed.
