There is another type of error that comes from the finite resolution of two Doppler velocities. We analyzed this type of error and showed that the error is minimum on an arc on which the scattering angle is 100 degrees (Takaya and Nakazato, 2000). Moreover, we obtained a crescent-shaped domain within which the mean square error is at most twice the minimum value. This domain is defined by two arcs on which the scattering angle takes values of 52 and 142 degrees, respectively.
Comparing the magnitudes of two types of error for a bistatic Doppler radar system with a rapidly rotating antenna, we show that the contribution of the former type of error is negligible in the crescent-shaped domain except two small domains that contain a transmitter/receiver and a receiver, respectively.
