While focusing on all components of the soil-vegetation-atmosphere system, the objective of this theme would be twofold: 1) discuss the measurement and modeling carbon, water, and other scalar fluxes under both current and future climate conditions; and 2) discuss the implication of changing climate for agricultural and forest management practices, crop productivity, and resource, especially food, security.
