The National Hurricane Center (NHC) Technology and Science Branch (TSB) is responsible for a wide array of activities supporting the National Hurricane Program. These responsibilities include overseeing every phase of the research to operations (R2O) process, from providing meteorological expertise to researchers, to the support of operational information technology (IT), and operational forecasting. This talk will provide an overview of the NHC TSB, its responsibilities, and major milestones achieved during the past two years. It will also provide an overview of NHC technical systems and guidelines for external developers that want to create tools that can be successfully implemented through R2O processes. Finally, we will discuss some current R2O initiatives and technology-driven plans for the NHC during the next few years.
