"Call-to-action" statements are a critical part of the warning message. They must convey clear, concise instructions to the recipient about what protective action must be taken against the threat. The National Weather Service, in collaboration with social scientists, has recently begun an effort to improve call-to-action statements within NWS watch, warning, and advisory messages. This presentation will focus on these improvement efforts.
