Climate change is often regarded as a controversial topic. Indeed, it is controversial because there are implications for public policy. But the fundamentals of the science climate change are well understood--the earth is warming and greenhouse gas emissions are largely responsible. We will review the fundamentals of climate change science and briefly discuss some of the latest attempts to understand the implications of climate change for hurricanes, severe storms, floods, and droughts.
