9.3 Tornadic vs. Straightline: The Physical Evidence

Meteorologists often conduct ground surveys following damaging wind events to try and determine what type of phenomena - tornado, straight-line winds or a combination of the two - caused the damage. However determining the exact cause of the damage is often difficult. This presentation will highlight some of the challenges associated with making the determination and briefly explain the methodology used on ground surveys.
