This panel brings together representatives from NWS, broadcast media, academia, and the emergency management community to discuss current and salient communication based issues at the heart of the weather enterprise effort to create a truly Weather Ready Nation. This panel will discuss such questions as, "Who are the publics for weather warnings and advisories? How do these various publics encounter, engage, and process weather information? How can members of the weather enterprise collaborate around the idea of a Weather Ready Nation? How can social media be better utilized by the weather enterprise? How can warning systems be best coordinated to further the idea of 'weather readiness'? In what ways can private enterprise foster and extend weather ready goals in communities across the nation?" Audience participation in discussion will be encouraged.
