Skywatching events are some of the easiest and most successful "extras" you can add to a weathercast. Viewer feedback is always positive any time they can easily find a planet, meteor shower, or bright satellite that you've told them about. This presentation will showcase some of the many celestial events coming to the evening and predawn skies near you. In particular, you'll get advance information about the excellent prospects for August's Perseid meteor shower, a total lunar eclipse in September, a dramatic pairing of a crescent Moon and Venus in December, and more all visible from the U.S.
