Nearly 36 million people rely on the Colorado River for water, food, recreation, and energy. With the ongoing mega-drought, however, that number may dwindle as lake levels in America's largest reservoirs, Powell & Mead, continue dropping to record levels. At some point in the next few years, if not sooner, electricity may no longer be generated through the dams that hold water in these reservoirs, impacting millions. This is just part of the ongoing water crisis in the West. Water rights, groundwater issues, desalination, etc., are topics discussed weekly in the western states. Join me for a discussion on how we discuss these issues on our station, how far we've come, and what more can be done.
