Plans for a regional atmospheric reanalysis over the Greenland ice sheet: GREBIS - Greenland Reanalysis of the Energy Budget of the Ice Sheet

A NASA funded project to conduct a regional atmospheric reanalysis over the Greenland ice sheet has just begun. The reanalysis will use a wide range of available observations combined with short duration simulations from a polar regional climate model (Polar MM5). Examples of the types of data being used in the reanalysis and preliminary results will be presented. Comments on additional data sources and data assimilation techniques will be sought from conference attendees during the poster session.
