Student Perceptions on Global Warming-Northern/Southern Hemispheres
Steve M. Carlson, AMS/AERA and Hermiston School District, Hermiston, OR
Are k-12 students in the southern hemisphere more aware of global warming than their compatriots in the northern hemisphere? This is the question my colleague Sel Kerns from Australia tried to answer with a research project. An international survey was designed and implemented among students in South Africa, Argentina, Australia, the United States, and Europe. AMS Educational program teacher representatives were used to disseminate the survey and Zoomerang Inc. in San Francisco collected results. The results of these surveys will be the focus of this presentation.
